The world’s largest semiconductor chip maker Intel has announced the 8th Gen Intel Core-X Series processors At the ongoing Computex 2017. According to Intel, the 8th Gen Core-X processor is it’s most powerful so far. The processor will boost the performance of PC for advanced gaming, VR and content creation.
The 8th Gen Intel Core-X Series processors Everything You Should know
The X series Processor is Intel Core i9 Extreme Edition having 18 cores and 36 threads. With Skylake & Kabylake are mainstream processors, now Intel introduce 18 Core i9 Extreme Edition for the power user.
“I’m proud to announce the new Intel Core X-series processor family: Intel’s most scalable, accessible and powerful desktop platform ever,” Gregory Bryant, corporate vice president and general manager of the Client Computing Group at Intel Corporation, wrote in the editorial of the company’s website.
Intel also adds the new 8th-gen-intel-core-x-series-processors is 30% faster than its predecessor, 7th Gen processors. The price of the new processor at $999 (around Rs 64,500). The processor comes with improved Intel Turbo Boost Max Technology 3.0.
Though the base and boost clock speeds are lower compared to the other Core-i7 models, the Core i9-7900X has 10 cores with HyperThreading, 13.75MB of L3 cache and a massive 44 PCIe lanes.
All processors from the Core-X series will be using Intel’s new X299 chipset, which uses a new LGA 2066 socket. The Skylake &Kkaby lake CPUs also upgraded as
Skylake-X and Kaby Lake-X CPUs. The Skylake will support Intel’s Turbo Boost Max 3.0 technology with 18 cores, more than double the PCIe lanes. The CPU also support quad-channel DDR4 memory. This CPU runs at 3.5GHz with boost clock set to 4GHz.
